Valentine’s Day is only a few days away and I finally have a complete Valentine’s manicure. I only went through about 5 Valentine nail art designs before I finally came up with this one. I absolutely love how it turned out!
I know hearts are the foundation of most Valentine nail designs, but I wanted to go with something a little less traditional. So, I went with roses! Of course, I still included a heart because it is for Valentine’s Day after all. This was my very first attempt at doing roses and I was quite proud of how they turned out. I wish I had put just a bit more detail in that one rose, but I still think it looks pretty good for my first time. I was afraid to try nail art roses for so long, but they were much easier than I though they would be. Plus, I’ve already gotten lots of compliments on this mani, which is a huge success to me. 🙂
This Valentine nail design uses IBD Magic Genie as the base color. Then, I used IBD Whipped Cream for the base of the roses on the ring finger, the dots on the middle finger, and the heart on the thumb. The roses also have IBD Juliet and IBD Magic Genie for the rose part and IBD Turtle Bay for the leaves. See full swatches of these in my Swatch Gallery.

*Tip* If you want to practice nail art designs with gel polish, but you don’t want to do a complete removal for each design, just use Elmer’s glue as a base coat. Then, you can just peel off the manicure when you are finished. Or, if you are just trying out simple, one color designs, paint or dot on the nail art, but wipe it off before curing!
